Raghu Adiga, MD
Infectious disease specialist Dr. Raghu Adiga began practicing medicine in Missouri in 1997 and served as Chief Medical Officer at Liberty Hospital for seven years until his appointment in June 2022 to the role of hospital President and CEO. Dr. Adiga strongly believes that empathy, compassion and respect for fellow human beings are the bedrocks of healthcare delivery. Throughout the years he has maintained a special interest and involvement in Medical Ethics at the hospital level. He believes serving as a board member of the Center for Practical Bioethics will allow him an opportunity to be part of making a bigger impact in his community, state and nation.
Dr. Adiga received his medical degree from Bangalore University in India and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He received combined Infectious Disease fellowship training from the University of Chicago and the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has served as President of the Kansas City Infectious Disease Society and Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society.
His accolades include being named to the lists of “Top Doctors in Kansas City” (2012) and “Healthcare Heroes” (2021) by Ingram’s Magazine as well as “Kansas City’s Twenty to Know in Healthcare” (2022) by the Kansas City Business Journal. In 2021 he was honored by William Jewell College with the William F. Yates Medallion for Distinguished Service for his dedication to the health and safety of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
